The H.A.R.T. Team responds to traumatic events throughout the school district. Members are trained in responding to traumatic and crisis situations. When a traumatic event occurs, team members are deployed to assist students, staff, parents and community members in coping with the trauma and loss.

- Provide structure to a possibly chaotic and emotional situation
- Provide factual information to students and staff to help in the grieving process and prevent/discourage rumors
- Offer support to highly affected students and staff following a traumatic event
- Time to meet with H.A.R.T. members and building support personnel
- Debriefings, individual sensory based programs and community resources
- Help and support the family by returning personal belonging, identification of community resources
